Chief Architect

Chief Architect

For a about 2 years now I have been using a architecture program called Chief Architect X2.

Prior to that I used a program called Better Homes and Garden's Interior Designer and Home Designer Suite 8, before that I had never used an architecture program. So I had to teach my self practically everything.

After I got use to the BH&G programs I found Chief Architect X2 and tried a demo version of it and was blown away by how amazing it was and how it was on a completely different level than the BH&G programs. So I went ahead and got a copy of it, lucky for me I was able to find it when it was a little older and it was cheaper.

It's taken me a long time to get to the point that I am at now where I can design some interesting things. I still don't have a lot of 3D symbols to use in the program so my designs are some what limited but with the millions of 3D objects in the Google 3D Warehouse I am able to make more detailed and much nicer designs.

Chief Architect has a newer version out but since I am not a licensed Architect or contractor and I don't get paid for any of the design work that I have done, because most of it is just for fun. I don't see why I should spend the money to upgrade to the next version. Even thought it has so much more functionality than my current version.

Any way I wanted to make this entry just to show off my designs, and what I have learned. Since the higher quality it is it takes a long time to render, by that I mean hours.
I haven't tried to make the highest quality image yet because even a medium quality image can take from 6 to 12 hours to build.

I really want to give a full quality image a chance, but since I use a laptop and it takes a lot up of resources, also it's the only computer I have so I wont to do it. Maybe if I get a new computer some day or buy a desktop that has a graphics card that is a magnitude more powerful than the one in my laptop I think I might give it a go.

Well here are the designs I made:
Like I said I am not a professional so please don't judge my designs to harshly.

Have a happy winter holiday, Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah,Happy Kwanza, and prosperous new year. I am Chububobcat and this has been my random thought for the day. (As I said before there is a special entry coming, I finally figured out how to use a part of the program needed for the special post. So keep looking forward to it.)
